Aplington approves recreational vehicle parking ordinance

The Aplington City Council on Wednesday passed parameters for the parking of certain vehicles on city streets.

The council ruled that RVs, campers, boat trailers and other large vehicles may only be parked curbside for a maximum 48-hour period for loading and unloading. Vehicles must also be parked a minimum of 30 feet from an intersection or alleyway.

The council opened the resolution to a public hearing Wednesday in which no complaints or comments were spoken or submitted. The council chose to waive subsequent hearings as they are allowed to do if no opposition is presented and place the ordinance into effect. The council passed the resolution unanimously.
