Aplington council proposes new garbage rate increase

The Aplington City Council on Wednesday approved a proposal for new garbage rates.

The proposed rate increase of $17 per month covers both regular residential premises as well as “vacation” accounts. Vacant properties would go from $0 per month to $10. Currently, Rates are $15.50 per month for normal households and $6 for vacation accounts.
