Aplington Days 2019 is a dog-gone good time

It was a Paws-itively great celebration on Monday afternoon of Aplington Days, as community members were treated to a grill out, kiddie parade, dog show and more. The theme for this year’s Aplington Days celebration, “Paws-itively great,” was taken to heart by one local six-year-old - Nora Voss - who entered the kiddie parade with a plan in mind.

As she walked the parade route, Nora stopped at each group of parade-watchers to have them sign a petition to her dad allowing her to get a puppy. There was no word on the exact number of signatures she had collected so far, but Nora is hopeful her dad will allow her to get the puppy after the signatures are tallied. She thinks she might like a Great Pyrenees, and had a few names in mind, but says she will wait to see if the dog is a male or female.
