Children’s author shares book, advice with A-P students

A visitor to Aplington-Parkersburg Elementary last week showed students that reaching goals doesn’t take a superhuman effort.

Bellevue, Iowa-based author Kurt Wagner stopped by the school on Halloween to read his most recent book, “Anthony’s Happy Halloween,” and answer questions. An author for just three years, Wagner said he’s proof that goals can be achieved no matter how young, old or experienced.

“I’m pretty much an ordinary person and I think it lets them know you don’t have to be special to write a story or achieve a goal in your life,” he said. “I try to express that whatever you put your mind to, you can succeed.”
