City of New Hartford invites community to join in on fun at Pumpkin Festival

Every year on the first weekend of October, the town of New Hartford comes to life as hundreds of people pack into the city park for the annual Pumpkin Festival celebration.

This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Packwaukee Park.

City Clerk Shawna Hagen says she’s excited to see all the fun going on and memories being made around town this weekend.

“Everything about this day is for the community and our families, and in return, we hope everyone has a fantastic day with us making memories of a lifetime,” she said. “We want to thank all our friends and families for coming out to join us, as well as all the visitors and new people we get to meet. It’s a pleasure each and every year.”

Hagen says there’s an abundance of free fun to be had in town on Saturday, and that there’s truly something for everyone.

Activities and events for the day include: a craft fair/flea market/farmer’s market, a Tractor Show, comedian, live music, a demonstration by the Black Hawk RC Pilots, K-9 Training Demonstrations from High Velocity Canine, a program honoring the D-NH cheerleaders and cross country students, a visit from First Responders and an Aircare landing, games, face painting chalk art, balloon characters, the caricature artist, dancing in the bubble machine, a KUBB tournament for adults with a chance to win a KUBB set, and a “Clued In” Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt.
