Cuvelier hired as new Economic Development Director

Armed with years of experience in management and a passion for the community, longtime resident Tim Cuvelier is ready to take the reigns as Parkersburg’s newest Economic Development Director.

Cuvelier, who has lived in Parkersburg since 1979 and raised his family here, recently retired from a 25 year long career at Grainger Industrial Supply in Waterloo to start farming full time. Looking for something to do in the off-season, he decided to apply for the open position of Economic Development Director here in town.

“I love the community and have a real passion for Parkersburg,” Cuvelier said. “My background lends itself to the job well, and I thought it would be a good fit. At Grainger, I was part of a big project to build a new facility, and we also did a lot philanthropically, so that exposure was important and helpful for me in my new position.”

Cuvelier was hired back in October, and after finishing up everything on the farm, he’s now holding regular office hours at City Hall, and he says he’s ready to get the ball rolling with his new position.
