D-NH's Coulter plays in NICL Senior Game

REINBECK – Dike-New Hartford boys’ basketball senior Broden Coulter took part in NICL’s Senior Series on Friday night at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School.

Coulter scored 15 points for the NICL East senior team, one of five double-digit scorers for the East in a 101-98 win over the West. Jesup’s Ethan Wyant was the East MVP after a 22-point performance, while Nathan Karsjens of AGWSR won the West MVP award with 23 points.

The teams combined for 39 3-pointers in an entertaining night with a 3-point contest at halftime and a dunk contest after the game.

“It was fun to just get some shots up and have a good time at the end of the season,” Coulter said. “Coach just told us to shoot when you’re open, that’s about it. It was fun to play with other guys that you don’t normally play with.”

In the girls’ game, the NICL East won 53-48. Union’s Kaeli Block was the East MVP, while AGWSR’s Maddie Brandt won the West MVP award.
