Kalkwarf, Harken elected to A-P School Board

Voters in the Aplington-Parkersburg School District on Tuesday elected incumbent Jill Kalkwarf and newcomer Derek Harken to the A-P School Board.

Harken received 292 votes, or 40.84 percent of the votes, while Kalkwarf received 278 votes, or 38.88 percent of the votes.

Myron Aalderks finished third in voting with 143 votes. Two write-ins were also received.

The board had two open spots. Current board member Kevin Schipper did not apply for reelection.
