Kramer takes the reins at Mane Station

On June 1, longtime employee Tasha Kramer took the reins at Parkersburg’s Mane Station Salon and Spa.

But there’s a good chance you won’t notice a difference in service. Former owner Deb Kerns and employee MaKayla Johnson will continue to work full time. Hours will be the same, and prices will be the same.

“It has been my lifelong dream to own a salon,” said Kramer. “Deb has a very good business.”

For Kramer, it was an easy decision to purchase the business. And for Kerns, it was an easy decision to sell.

“I’m getting older, and I’ve loved Tasha since the first time she came in the door. I asked her nine years ago if she wanted to buy the shop in five to 10 years’ time,” Kerns said.

With her husband retired, Kerns didn’t want the extra work inherent with ownership anymore, but she didn’t want to give up working with her customers.
