A sip of Parkersburg Coffee house and gift shop to open downtown

Many locals are already bustling with excitement at the news of a coffee shop opening in downtown Parkersburg.

But Colleen Martindale says she's the most excited of all to open Sip n' Shop Coffee House Antiques and Gifts later this month.

Martindale also owns and operates the Falcon's Nest sub shop. She's always dreamed of owning a coffee shop, but never thought it was an option for her.

About a year ago, that option presented itself.

Martindale found out that the business next door to the Falcon's Nest - Papenshack's Porch - was closing due to the owner's retirement.

"I'd always dreamed of owning a coffee shop, and for a long time it was just a dream," Martindale said. "When Linda decided to retire and the opportunity came up to open [the coffee shop in her old building], it all fell into place."
