Hannah June Walvatne, 2

Hannah June Walvatne

February 7, 2023 – May 30, 2025

Hannah, 2 years, 3 months, 23 days, of Parkersburg, was called home to heaven unexpectedly on Friday, May 30, 2025, at MercyOne/Sartori Hospital, Cedar Falls. She was born February 7, 2023, in Waterloo, the 8th child of John and Heather (Stairs) Walvatne. Hannah was a joy to all, and lit up our lives with her happy demeanor, big blue eyes, bouncy curls and winning smile. She was shy toward anyone she didn’t know, but once acquainted, she was sweet and playful. She was a huge fan of chocolate and almost everything was better in her world when it involved chocolate. Hannah was a very affectionate mommy’s girl, with infinite hugs and “I love you’s” for mommy, daddy and her siblings. At bedtime, she would call out “I love you mom, I love you dad” from her bedroom across the hall until she received an “I love you Hannah” in response. Often, she would repeat this sweet bedtime game until she fell asleep. She was happiest when cuddling with her mom and her “bup bup” (blanket), and mimicked that same pure love by cradling her own baby dolls. Hannah was also quick to pick up and recite things that were said to her, and enjoyed singing. One of her favorite songs to sing was “Jesus Loves Me”. The love and happiness that Hannah brought into our home and lives will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Hannah was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Mark Walvatne and William Lavery. She is survived by her parents; and siblings: Natalie of Waverly, Fiona, Michael, Landon, Alayna, Ella, Andrew and Caleb all of Parkersburg; grandparents: Linda Lavery, Sue Postol and Blair (Diane) Stairs; uncles, aunts and cousins.

Hannah’s Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Stout Gospel Hall with Visitation on Friday from 4:30-7:00 pm at Dahl Van-Hove Funeral Home. She will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg. Memorials may be directed to her family.
