D-NH volleyball defeats Union for NICL East lead

LA PORTE CITY – Dike-New Hartford volleyball claimed an emphatic victory over Union in a battle of NICL East leaders at Union High School on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

  

The Wolverines, ranked eighth in Class 3A, won 25-21, 25-20, 25-15 against Class 3A's fourth-ranked Knights. D-NH improved to 6-0 in the NICL East with two games to play, while Union fell back to 6-1.

  

D-NH kept Union uncomfortable on serve receive, serving at 91.8 percent with nine aces.

  

In the third set, the Wolverines got out to a 5-1 start and led 13-8 midway through the match-clinching set.

  

Morgan Weber had 16 kills, 15 digs and was in on two blocks. Jenna Joslin had 11 kills. Lexie Fager came up with 20 digs. Brielle Coulter issued 19 assists with Madelyn Norton dishing out 10 assists. Malea Neuroth was 19-of-19 serving with four aces and Coulter was 16-of-17 with two aces.
