Falcon girls overwhelm Thunder

PARKERSBURG – A-P head coach Jason Berkey had plenty to be proud of with Aplington-Parkersburg's 70-32 win over Grand View Christian in the regular-season home finale last Tuesday night.

Jenna Bruns scored 11 points with five rebounds, McKenna Oldenburger had seven points with four rebounds and Avari Everts grabbed six rebounds with five assists and two blocked shots. The Falcons improved to 19-2 overall.

Everts said the Falcon seniors wanted to make this a special senior night, with this group of seniors representing the first four years of Berkey's tenure with Aplington-Parkersburg after Berkey left AGWSR to take the athletic director position at A-P in the summer of 2014.

"It means a lot that we could come out and win for him tonight, because he's done so much for us," Everts said. "He's always believed in us and he has such a passion for the game that really keeps the fire in us."
