A-P football has shot at district title

Aplington-Parkersburg football kept its playoff chances afloat with a 24-0 win at Sumner-Fredericksburg on Friday, Oct. 18.

The Falcons (5-3, 3-1 Class 1A District 3) can clinch the district title with a win at Osage (4-4, 4-0) on Friday. A-P would win either a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Green Devils or a three-way tie between A-P, Osage and Denver. The Cyclones play at Lake Mills this week.

Jalen Meyer powered A-P's rushing attack, carrying 41 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Owen Thomas threw for 124 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown pass to Jack Haren that pushed A-P's halftime lead to 14-0.
