Parkersburg High graduate Voogd ends military career after 30 years

Erik Voogd took an unusual route to begin his practice at the Great Lakes Pain Center in Bay City, Michigan.

“One of the things I did to get out here is, I rode from the Mexican border to the Canadian border,” said the 1986 Parkersburg High graduate. “I took desert roads and forest roads… went along volcanic chains and forests. Then I rode from there to Michigan.”

The trip on his motorcycle took him through uncertain terrain and breathtaking views. He admits it was a daunting journey, but those had become familiar in his 30 years in the military.
