Area Memorial Day ceremonies set for next week

Memorial Day 2021 will be recognized on Monday, May 31. Details on area ceremonies:

Parkersburg

American Legion Post 285 plans for full Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 31, 2021.  The ceremony will start at 8:30 a.m., at the Depot Park with a Wreath Ceremony.  At 8:45 a.m. Memorial Ceremony will be conducted at the Catholic Cemetery.  At 9:00 a.m., Oak Hill Cemetery will have its ceremony featuring keynote speaker, SGM Chris Verrett.  This year’s ceremony will also feature the A-P High School Band, Pledge of Allegiance, prayer by Pastor Brian Koelsch, contest winners, volley fired and Taps.

Aplington

AMVETS Memorial Day services begin Sunday, May 30 at Washington Reformed Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. and Bethel Reformed Cemetery at 2 p.m. On Monday, May 31, there will be a Memorial Day parade in Aplington at 10 a.m., with services at Pleasant View Cemetery immediately following the parade.

New Hartford

Memorial Day services begin at 9 a.m. at the New Hartford Community Center on Monday, May 31.
