Bovy, Herrmann qualify for archery nationals

DES MOINES – LeeAnn Bovy and Indy Herrmann will represent Aplington-Parkersburg Archery at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Eastern National tournament following their performance at last weekend’s state tournament in Des Moines.

Bovy, a senior, placed sixth in the High School Girls 3D division with a score of 286. Herrmann, an eighth-grader, was 10th in the Middle School Girls 3D division with a 276 score.

The Eastern National tournament is in Louisville, Kentucky, running from May 11-13.

Aplington-Parkersburg’s high school team finished eighth out of 22 teams in 3D and 12th out of 32 teams in bullseye. The middle school team was 19th out of 21 teams in 3D and 23rd out of 30 teams in bullseye.

Bovy also finished 31st out of 370 girls in bullseye.
