PARKERSBURG – Parkersburg Cub Scouts Pack 4088 has returned to operation with much planned for young ones in 2023.

Cub Scout Pack meetings are every third Sunday of each month at 4 p.m., with January’s meeting scheduled for Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. at Parkersburg Elementary.

About twenty kids are signed up but more are welcome to join. The Tiger Den of kindergarten and first graders will be led by Lesa Schipper; the Wolf Den of second graders will be led by Anna Conrad; third through fifth graders are part of the Bear and Webelo Den led by Laura Kats.

The Parkersburg Lions Club is the charter organization with Harm Jass as Cub Master.

The club held their first meeting as a pack at Crystal Bowl in Grundy Center. Future events include Cub Scout anniversary in February with a potluck to celebrate, followed by pinewood derby cars in March.

All the Cub Scouts will be working toward their Bobcat badge, learning the basics of scouting, including the oath. A May camping trip is also planned, as well as participating in community parades this summer.

Those looking to sign up their children for the Cub Scout Pack, or learn more about what the Cub Scouts offer, can visit scouting.org, click “Be A Scout,” and enter your zip code; or create an account at my.scouting.org.
