D-NH girls track 3rd at Hudson; A-P's Bellows wins high jump

HUDSON – Dike-New Hartford and Aplington-Parkersburg girls track and field finished next to each other on the leaderboards at a 15-team meet in Hudson last Tuesday.

The Wolverines were third with 90 points and the Falcons fourth with 60 points - Decorah won the team title with 128.5 points, followed by Denver with 114 points.

D-NH’s Jadyn Petersen won the long jump and was on the 2nd place 4x100 team and 3rd-place 4x400 team. Taylor Kvale won the 400 hurdles and was on the runner-up 4x200 and third-place 4x400 and sprint medley teams.

A-P’s Olyvia Bellows cleared 5 feet, 5 inches on the high jump bar to match the Drake Relays Blue Standard in the event. The Drake Relays is later this month. Bellows also took silver in the 100 hurdles and was on the third-place shuttle hurdle relay team. A-P’s 4x800 quartet took second and Quinnlyn Schultz (400 hurdles) and Kinsey Mohwinkle (high jump) each earned bronze medals.
