A-P boys track in Hudson's top half

HUDSON – The Aplington-Parkersburg boys track and field team placed seventh in an 18-team meet at Hudson High School on Thursday.

The Falcons scored 47 points. Grundy Center won the team title with 127 points.

Jayden Mackie won the high jump after clearing 6 feet even. In the running events, Kaden Huttinger had the Falcons’ best individual finish with a fourth-place run in the 400 hurdles in 1:00.31. A-P’s distance medley relay team of Gavin Madsen, Jack Eddy, Andrew Ogle and Gavin Thomas won silver in a time of 3:59.99.

 

MUSTANG RELAYS: Jayden Mackie won the high jump to contribute to Aplington-Parkersburg’s second-place team finish at the Mustang Relays at East Marshall High School on Monday, April 12.

Mackie cleared the bar at 6-feet even.

A-P’s best relay finishes were in the 4x100, with the team of Aidan Junker, Mackie, Gavin Stroh and Kaden Huttinger finishing in 48.82; and the distance medley team of Jack Eddy, Andrew Ogle, Adam Schipper and Joe Johnson crossing the line in 4:08.91.

Mackie and Huttinger added a couple of bronze medals in the 110 high and 400-meter hurdles, respectively.
