A-P downs Central Springs in home finale

PARKERSBURG – Kinsey Mohwinkle and Peyton Klooster combined for 40 kills in Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball’s four-set victory over Central Springs in a Class 2A regional quarterfinal at A-P High School last Wednesday.

The Falcons advanced to a regional semifinal against Denver at the Cyclone Center on Monday, Oct. 24. The winner of that game plays either Grundy Center or Lake Mills in a regional final currently scheduled to be played at Union High School on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

A-P defeated Central Springs 25-12, 25-21, 20-25, 26-24.

Mohwinkle led the way with 21 kills and Klooster added 19 kills. Klooster also had 13 digs and three ace serves; Mohwinkle added six digs and two total blocks. Avery Meyer contributed 12 kills and a team-leading five blocks; Ellen Waller led the back-row defensive effort with 18 digs. Halle Buseman distributed 51 assists and was 25-of-25 serving with three aces.
