A-P volleyball wins St. Edmond tourney

FORT DODGE – Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball went 5-0 to win a St. Edmond tournament in Fort Dodge on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The Falcons defeated Southeast Valley, St. Edmond, and Pocahontas Area in straight sets, and claimed three-set victories against Bishop Garrigan and Webster City.

In both three-set victories, A-P bounced back from second-set losses to finish off the matches in three.

Peyton Klooster had five kills and six digs against Garrigan. Cadence Bertram and Ellen Waller each added seven digs. The Falcons had 10 ace serves on 44-of-49 serving. Halle Buseman distributed 17 assists.

Klooster added 12 kills and six digs in the win against Webster City. Kennedy Lind got her hands up on six assisted blocks, with Klooster and Buseman contributing two assisted blocks each. Buseman and Lind added four kills each. The serving was sharp once again, 50-of-53 with seven ace serves.

A-P started the NICL schedule at home against Waterloo Columbus on Tuesday, Aug. 30. The Falcons head to North Tama on Thursday, Sept. 1.
