A-P XC ends season in Oelwein

OELWEIN – Aplington-Parkersburg cross country ended its 2022 season at a Class 2A state-qualifying meet in Oelwein.

The A-P girls were 10th with 210 points. Lia Hovenga led the way in 24th in 21:46 and Ashley Schipper was 28th in 22:13. The top 15 individuals and top three teams qualified to the state meet.

Jesse Washington led the A-P boys in 40th overall. The Falcons were 12th in the team standings with 283 points.

It was the final race for several seniors - Lia Hovenga, Shayla Barrett, Adison Williamson and Ella Luebbers on the girls side and Jesse Washington, Evan Sheesley, Henry Reints and Kamdon Hoppenworth for the A-P boys.

 

A-P girls (10th, 210)–24. Lia Hovenga 21:46; 28. Ashley Schipper 22:13; 36. Quinnlyn Schultz 22:49; 58. Shayla Barrett 24:00; 64. Adison Williamson 24:15; 70. Lexi Aswegen 24:50; 76. Ella Luebbers 25:23.

A-P boys (12th, 283 points)–40. Jesse Washington 18:43; 54. Jonah Carney 19:22; 60. Evan Sheesley 19:39; 61. Henry Reints 19:39; 68. Kamdon Hoppenworth 19:55; 78. Isaac Foxen 20:31.
