Parkersburg Ambulance receives donation

Mike Neavins

The Parkersburg Ambulance Service recently received a donation from Peg Neavins, made on behalf of her son, Mike Neavins. The donation was made on Mike’s birthday - Mike was born on Nov. 8, 1971 and tragically died while riding his bicycle north of Parkersburg in 1994.

Parkersburg Ambulance expressed their gratitude for the donation, as Mike’s legacy continues to impact those that knew him, and even those who never had the opportunity to experience his fun-loving spirit and strong work ethic.

“Mike was an amazing friend and classmate,” Parkersburg Mayor Mike Timmer said. “Neavy would be proud that he is still having an impact on the Parkersburg community to this day. His life was lived to the fullest and he continues to be an example for all.”

The donation will be put toward the purchase of a LUCAS device for the ambulance service to help ambulance workers save the lives of those who suffer from sudden cardiac arrest.
