Supervisors approve bridge projects

​During the Oct. 18 Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved two new bridges to be installed in Butler County.

Two bridge replacement projects were discussed in the meeting. The first bridge, located on Cedar Avenue, south of C65, will be a 150 x 30 ft concrete slab bridge. The project budget is expected to be around $900,000. The second bridge, located on Marsh Avenue, north of C23, will be an 80 x 30 ft concrete slab bridge. The project budget is expected to be around $550,000. The present representative stated they are looking to use their available federal aid. 

A public hearing was opened regarding updates to the Butler County Zoning Ordinance Title VI, Number 7. Informational meetings have been held regarding the ordinance changes for the past several months. No comments or concerns were received before the public hearing was closed. 

The board approved the first reading of the Butler County Zoning Ordinance Title VI, Number 27. 

A discussion was held regarding a letter of engagement with Ahlers & Cooney for carbon pipeline consulting services. The estimated county expense for this project is between $5,000 and $10,000. The decision has been postponed until next week as the board would like to have a representative from the firm present in the meeting. 

The board approved its web maintenance agreement with CorePHP. Sara Trepp, IT Director, informed the board that this agreement, which includes a $5,000 annual fee, will allow for the website to continue being hosted by CorePHP. 

A new lease with Access Systems was reviewed and approved by the board. This lease will include updated computers and machines for the building, in addition to receiving the required parts and services, should they be required. 

A new 3-inch service line to 33290 310th St in New Hartford was reviewed and approved by the board for installation.
