Butler County continues walk-in vaccine clinics
Butler County Public Health is considering regular walk-in clinics for those that want the one-shot Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
After a higher than expected turnout at their first walk-in clinic last week, Butler County Public Health has scheduled another walk-in clinic for this Wednesday, again from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
For those that want the Moderna vaccine, the next prime clinic is still scheduled for June 4.
As of Monday, May 24, approximately 12,600 doses of vaccine have been administered to Butler County residents, with 5,936 completing their two-dose vaccine series and an additional 361 receiving a one-dose vaccination. This brings the total number of vaccinated residents to 6,297.
A total of 1,655 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county, increasing the county total in the last week by just five cases.
In Butler County, 7,387 individuals have been tested at some point during the pandemic, with a total of 30,512 tests performed on Butler County residents overall. In the last 14 days, 2.3% of the total tests have been positive for the virus.
One additional COVID-19 related death has been reported from the county, bringing the total number of fatal cases to 35.
